Mirko Marcolini founds K-Sport

K-Sport, founded by Mirko Marcolini in 2005 at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Bologna, deals with the research and development, on a scientific basis, of methodologies and tools with a high innovative and technological content that assist professionals - especially coaches, athletic trainers and technical staff, but also players, scouts, managers and media - allowing them to do their job more and more effectively.

2008

K-Sport wins the first of a long series of business plan competitions

K-Sport takes its first steps thanks to funding from the European Social Fund, which will be followed by various funding and awards aimed at both scientific projects and business creation projects.

2009

The optical tracking system and the first worldwide based on 10Hz GPS technology wearable have been released

2010

K-Sport patents at PCT level "Method for game analysis", currently the only AI certified system in the world capable of analyzing sports performance on mathematical criteria

KK-Sport has developed the first (and still only) system in the world capable of analyzing the performance of players with truly mathematical and objective criteria (which take shape in a world patent certified by the European Patent Office) which is revolutionizing the way to see football.

First contract with the Italian national football team and first PRO customers (Fiorentina, Atalanta, Siena)

2011

K-Sport inaugurates the first office in South America (Argentina, Rosario)

2012

K-Sport partner of the Prozone / Amisco group, later acquired by Stats Perform (a company owned by Vista Equity Partners)

K-Sport has launched the most advanced EPTS system in the world, which acquires the position of the players 50 times per second (50Hz), and the first sensorized shirt (based on textile sensors) allowing a level of analysis never seen before, providing, in non-invasive way, vital parameters such as ECG, heart rate, ventilation and temperature.

In recent years, K-Sport technologies have been used by the most important teams and federations in the world (starting with the Italian national football and rugby teams) and by numerous research and university centers.
